Hey everybody. Can't decide between an 02' or 03' Range Rover. Which would have a greater value and everyday driver appeal?
I know the engines are different but I have heard that the 02' is the last of the truly off road beasts Land Rover made.
Thanks

"Value" is something that is kind of hard to get universal agreement on among RR owners I think. IF you mean "resale" then it really depends on a lot of factors that apply to all cars (condition, mileage, extras, under warranty still or not etc), but theortically a 03 with the same variables is going to be worth more than an 02. If you mean "personal satisfaction" value, then that is a very personal question and depends on your taste and what you plan to do with it.
I have the 02, and it is very very nice, and to a certain extent I hear some of the mechanical issues were worked out in this model. Mine is under warranty still with low mileage. I do not do much (well, any) off-roading, and wouldn't since the car is too beautiful and scratching it would kill me. (So you see where I am coming from and that I have babied it).
The 03, from what I have read, is bigger, and is quite a bit different internally and externally than the 1996-2002, which really have the same look and feel. So, I think it is a matter of which body style you like, your budget, and the condition you can find it in, as well as whether she is still under warranty.
I am thinking of upgrading to the 2003 or hopefully 2004 personally, but if you want a great 2002, mine's for sale and I can send you photos. Let me know.
