Hi,
I'm a new member and I wanted to get an opinion before I make a purchase. I'm having a mechanic look at it this week prior to purchase.

2000 Land Rover Discovery II for $6500 (working deal with owner to take over payments at $260/month)
89K
Always maintained by Land Rover dealership
Next scheduled maintenance is at 115K
No problems or malfunctions
Time for brakes to be replaced
Charcoal with tan leather interior
Heated seats
top of the line audio system
dual moonroof
New tires

Thanks!

I really doubt that this new member is looking for a bunch of BS like what you just posted, grow up or find another site.

The price is about on the money, especially if you have the old work orders and your mechanic gives it a clean bill of health.
One thing you want to have your mechanic check is the front drive shaft, make sure all 3 u-joints have grease fitting, if not the drive shaft will need to be rebuilt.
What are you planning to use it for?

Hi,
Thanks for the advice. After 10 years, my camry finally broke down after 220K miles. I'm currently trying to refinance my home and I can not afford to have a credit report pull and a car note listed on my report. So, I have an opportunity to get my cousin's truck that they don't use because they have two other cars. They currently, pay $260 and have $7200 left, but are willing to accept $6500 from me.  They say the truck runs great and they have no issues with it.  They love the truck, but they purchased a denali and don't need two trucks. Can someone tell me how much brakes would cost. She stated it was time for brakes.  This will be for short term use and I plan to purchase another car in two years.

Thanks again for the advice and help!
