'ello gang! I'm considering buying an 88 Range Rover that has a strange problem. It won't stay running! Current owner says it'll run for about 3 seconds max before dying. Here's a quote from him......
quote:

Here’s the deal, I’ve got this 1988 Range Rover that I bought a few years ago and drove for about 1 year before suddenly it won’t run anymore. I’ve tried the usual , drained the fuel tank, replaced the fuel filter, checked the fuel pump for operation, checked the plugs, wires, dist., coil, etc. I can’t find why it won’t run. The longest it will run is about 3 seconds and then shuts off.

Aside from the entire "not running" thing, the truck's in great shape! I'm definately thinking about taking on the project.........what say ye? Simple solution or major problem???
If it makes a difference, the motor's a 3.5L

Thanks in advance.....

The 88 Range is the 'red headed stepchild' of Ranges. It is the only year to use the Lucas 14 CU fuel injection system. Many LR dealers couldn't help you on repairs or parts. If you have a good Indy that specializes in LR's in your area then go for it. Otherwise think twice.

Sorry, just my opinion. I'll certainly try to help if you go for it.
