I am trying to locate a CD changer for a '99 Disco I. It looks to be prewired for the changer under the passenger side seat, however there are no visible controls on the dash for a CD player. The dealership prices are extreme for this changer and magazine. Online opportunities seem to skip the '99 year. Does anyone know why changers can be found specifically for every year except the '99 and will the '98 or '00 work?
I have found one individual that states that an Alpine 50500 will work. Can anyone verify this?

Hi - we're new to Rover Discovery but I do know that a 2000 will not work in a Discovery I - models changed from the Disco I to Disco II in 99 (mid-year change) - the 1998 should work for you
