My 2003 disco hse is acting up. For the past hour, the alarm has been going off non-stop. At first, I thought it was the wind. After five times, of unlocking the car and going off, turning the ignition and going off, I proceeded to contact lanroverusa center. I hit option # 1 and the road side assistance rep, advised for us to completley turn off the battery. I contacted the dealership today and they weren't much help. The radio is not working, I pulled a fuse so the horn does not beep. Is there something that I can do to deactivate the alarm? Or set it to be less sensitive?
Thanks in advance.

Are you still in warranty, if so go to the dealer, if not, I have a couple of thoughts.
Did you have a window cracked open when the truck was locked, if so, and this may sound crazy, if a bug or moth flew in the window, the ultrasound sensors would pick up it's movement and set the alarm.
If the hood switch is out of adjustment this will cause the alarm to set if it is a little windy.
Have you tried resetting the alarm by using your key or remote and slowly locking and unlocking the doors 3 time, SLOWLY?
What is your radio doing, is it asking for a code?

Hi and thanks for responding!
The car is still under warranty and is going to the dealer tomorrow. We were just hoping to have some answers in the meantime. Much of what you wrote has been suggested by the dealer, but it still seems to want to go off intermittently. Even after deactivating, my fiancee's knee hit the steeringwheel and set it off again. Do you know what the official way of silenecing the alarm is? I guess they did not make it easy to point the key fob out the window to turn off the alarm?
Yes, radio is asking for a code, but the dealer has not given us it yet.
Thanks in advance and Happy Thanksgiving.
Claudia and Mike.

Ask the dealer to request a print out from Rover for all outstanding recalls and your radio code and then hang on to it.
As for the alarm, it is probably one of the best ones installed by an auto maker, don't try to shut it down, just get it repaired correctly.
