Anyone have a OBDII reader, PC or Palm? I'm looking for cables and software.

I'm just wondering if anyone monitors their reading in real time.......

I have PC at my shop for state insps that does reads ready status.
But for my car I have a note book with Vag-com this will allow me to
do real time and set injection quantity, timing and much more.
But Vag-com will only work on Audi and VW.
I have yet to find anything that will let me do the same thing
at a good price $ 500 or less for my LR.
Some auto parts stores have OBDII readers that will read codes
and reset things but that is about it.

are you sure it will be obd2 compatible??

i have tried a td5 2001 disco 2 on a couple of readers with no readings....
vagcom cable for obd compatibility shows under vagcom not obd type controller.
and second scanner was elm type interface with paid for software (cz language software for businesses) but still again no connection made...

anyone know when they changed systems - i have tried to find some info out about aftermarket systems - and from what i have found some newer disco2 have obd for engine - but all other systems are off-limit to cheapie scanners/freebie software...

would be nice to find some cheaper options than a testbook or rovercom !
