hi guys, I have a 02 disco2 with 53k on her. I have been out in the dunes over the weekend and she pulled out a few fords and made a few trips out into the dunes well on the way home when holding a 75 80 mph when the motor is not working there is huge back lash then when the power comes back on again more back lash.( you do that for 150 miles. not good) checked tranny fluid-ok checked both drve shafts and U joints-ok . I found she shifts ok while still cold but once she heats up bad shifting and bad back lash. Can any one help. thanks.

Is it more then the normal Rover back lash which is pretty common?

Hay guys just got the disco up and running. The back lash was caused buy the bolts on the rear drive shaft coming loose. A local LR guy said if you play hard in a dico2 then this is common.mmmmm any way for you guys who USE you LR'S might want to check it out.

Glad that was an easy fix, do you have a RotoFlex on your rear drive shaft, if so did they check it to see if it was starting to crack?
