bad lock actuator rear door ??

I have a problem with the lock on on rear door of my 2001 disco.  The key remote locks all of the doors except the rear tail gate.  If I listen real closely when I push the lock / unlock button I can hear the rear door try to actuate but in slow motion....not the real quick "click" like the other doors.  If I keep pushing the lock button repeatly it will sometimes lock.  Any Ideas.....?  If it is the actuator, anyone know where I can purchase one w/o having to go to the stealership and any helpful info would help

This is the one that hangs on me sometimes especially when it is colder. Sounds like the actuator is working just the rod or what ever controls the visible post may be dirty. For some reason when I hit the button on the dash all of the doors will lock and unlock fine. I put the kids back there to check it out. I haven't taken the inside panel off to find out yet.

Usually clean won't do it, although it is worth a try.

for a good guaranteed used one.

before you change the tail door latch assembly make sure the outside
handle is not seized or tight to operate. with the handle up slightly
the latch assembly will not unlock with the remote or central door lock switch.

im was having the same problem with my 01 disco and now the entire door handle assembly is frozen. i havent taken the rear door apart yet, im gonna wait for some guidance from the brain trust before i start taking my rover apart. im kinda clumsy mechanically dontchknow...
so we are waiting on the same info, i think.

I would try spraying it real good with jigloo or other real good lube spray. Spray trough all the opening you can find that will get the lube to it. like the lock itself, down the inner door knob etc... All you have to loose is the couple of $$$$ for the price of the can!!!
