Hello,

When my Nokia 6021 bluetooth mobile is attached to the PTI system of my LR3 Discovery it stays attached even when I am out of the car in a circle of about 100 metres. When my phone goes I cannot hear anything. Does anybody know a solution for this, for example that the system automatically disconnects when the engine is off.

Thanks, Pieter

I have my wife's phone connected to the LR3 bluetooth and it disconnects as soon as the car is turned off. It could be a setting on the phone. Alternative would be to turn off phone's bluetooth after you leave the car. I know it is not ideal, but your phone might have a different bluetooth; perhaps stronger than average.

I have examined my phone but by this Nokia 6021 is no possibility to change this kind of setting. I did sometime turn off the bluetooth of my phone, but mostly too late after i got a ring. Hope anyone knows a solution.

Thanks, Pieter

Mine does the same thing once in a while. Seems like the newer bluetooths have a much longer reach. What I do if I get into the situation where my phone rings and it is still connected to the truck but I'm away from it, I answer the call and inmediately push the menu button. One of the options that comes up while in conversation is "disconect Bluetooth".

Now, with that said, please notice that your phone SHOULD disconnect either when you turn off the truck or when you lock the doors, can't remember which. It also picks up automatically when you UNLOCK the doors, not when you start the truck. I live in a 3 story home, the bottom floor is my guarage. Sometimes I go downstairs, unlock the truck to go out and realize I forgot something in my bedroom (3rd floor). It never fails it waits untill I get to the third floor and then thr phone rings, increadibly still connected 2 floors below me. Or when I take my LR3 to the detail shop. Just as soon as it starts going through the washing tunnel, someone calls. Just hit the menu on the phone and click Disconnect Bluetooth.

Yeah, I missed many calls because of not-so-great BT logic. But my Nokia 5500 has an option switching b/w BT and headset during the call, so it helps.

They should update the logic like in aftermarket kits when power/connection is driven by ignition but allows you to continue conversation even if you turn the ignition off.

Thanks Jantiz for your information. When I lock the doors it disconnect bluetooth, but when i get out en take something out of the back en lock afterwards it takes a lot longer when it disconnects.
The menuoption in my phone is possible but quite complicated, i have to navigate through 4 of 5 menus before disconnecting.
