If the trio of brake lights come on in a range rover, will they reset themselves if the fault is no longer there, or does it require a trip to the dealer?

It will require a mechanic with a test book or an AutoLogic scanner or one similiar to read and then clear the codes for your brakes.

i know about the dealer visit, i'm just wondering if they are supposed to turn them selves off, as mine did. i started up the car and got traction failure and abs fault on the message center, started up again after getting gas and only got abs fault, and then once i got home i shut it off and started it up and the lights shut off like normal

all i know is i pulled some fuses out and now i got some bleeps and squeaks with abs fault traction failure flashing... SRS light went out Solution? LOOSE Connection under the passenger seat. It was confirmed by i great mechanic i use in fairfield CT. I keep asking people what is the best book to get for a Landrover (ie OEM Landrover Range Rover Service manual for the techs that work at landrover?)

The lights are off now, i'm just wondering if they are supposed to turn themselves off, because i know in the Discovery they stay on until the dealer resets them. If they arn't supposed to turn themselves off, then i think i'm in for a new BECM

That's correct. Only current faults turn the lights on.
