Hello,
This is my first Disco I. Just got if off the truck last night and most of the normal issues I read about seem fine on mine. I have a few issues though that I would like some help figuring out.
My brake lights are stuck on. Could the brake pedal switch cause this?
The 2nd issue is only when I turn left I get a clicking noise which I figure is the CV joint. How can I test this to make sure. It also if I jerk the wheel left it will make a clunking noise like something is lose and shifting. I cant drive it on the road to much to test as its does not have plates yet. ANy help or ideas would be great.
Thanks

Feel for the brake light switch. Should be a little plunger that touches the pedal arm. Push the pedal in and pull the plunger out to the fullest. Should hear a click or two. If it won't come back out, or if it just slides back in, you need a new switch.
Sounds like you have a CV gong out, or a really loose wheel bearing. Might check the preload.

If you need a new switch, I have the AC Delco PN around here somewhere. A lot cheaper.

Does anyone have the AC Delco part number for the brake light switch? And recommend a place to find a reasonable priced CV joint.
Thanks

Brake lights switches go out on discos and as far as the jerking on the steering wheel make sure your steering dampner is good and your steering box is not loose. Solid front axels on your disco the joints really dont go out on them but you never know and the bearings are really good so id double checke your steering components.
