Hello guys!

I'm a seventeen year old kid getting my driver license this summer, so I definitely need a car. I want a car that looks cool, is comfortable and is a joy to drive, so I belive Range Rover could be my choice? The acceleration, horsepowers and top speed is indeed not what I looking for, but I do not want to feel that I drive a 1.6-litres bus either. The whole experience while driving the car could be a lot more important for me. I don't know much about Land Rovers, but the last few weeks I've probably fell a little in love with them. Also, I'm not a mechanic - so I do not want bigger troubles with the car.

Does anyone have ideas of what kind of model that could be interesting for me? I've found some nice 85-89-models there, but I don't know what to look for. Can anyone make a typical "buyers guide" for me? Is such a car the right for me? Please ask if there are information I've forgot to mention, I'm quite a newbie here.

Thank you!
Disco Mike

A rover is not a first time vehicle for anyone especially a seventeen year old without deep pockets. Insurance is high maintance can be worse.
Not wanting to rain on your parade, but I would suggest something more affordable especially if you plan on going to college.

I Agree. I'm Thirty five and always loved rovers since I was around your age.... But no rover old or new should be your first car. There is a love for this vehicle but you do have to have the means to afford the fixings and the gassings and payments and insurance. If I had this car when i was Ur age it would've been a nightmare. But none the less there is a camaraderie kinda like when i ride my Harley. Older guys will know what I'm talking bout..... Anyways get a jeep.....

Thanks Mike and luvemerover! :-)

I'm still not sure what kind of car I'm buying, but I clearly know that I once will buy a Landy.

Thanks again,

Just tried that approach. My Rover is wonderful, but I am looking at a list of 10 fixes and about $2000 worth of upgrades/fixes.

I bought a rover for my first/second car. I shared a cherokee with my sister for a while then i bought my first car, a 95 RRC lwb for $3,250. Its a great car but in 5 months ive already put around 3 grand into it. I love it and i love working on it but its expensive. It sure has eatten up my savings but i love it and dont regret it.
