Hello,
i have a discovery MPI 1996, and am looking to possibly buy some side steps and roof bars from a 1991 TDI 200. Will these fit on my model?? Looking at photos i think they will - is the MPI/TDI just differences within the engine etc? The shell looks the same.

Yes they are the same vehicle, the MPI was an attempt to solve the engine line up, as they beleived from market research that people wanted a more economical petrol (gas) engine that the V8, problem is that it is too under powered for the purpose. Okay for town work but no good at towing a trailer across a muddy field.
The only thing to watch out for is the number of doors, as differences exist between the 3 and 5 door models..
