I've been holding my breathe as the door locks on my 1999 Disco II (165K miles) have slowly stopped working. This morning I went out and the rear door is now locked and I cannot open by using key fob or the inside toggle switch. All is dead. I understand there are actuaters that need to be replaced, but is there also on on the rear door? Is there a way to release the door from the inside?
Finally, has anyone offered a step by step process to replace the actuaters? If so, I would really appreciate receiving it. I'm going to attempt to make this a DIY project if I can get comfortable with the process.
Thanks All.

This may help
http://www.landroverforums.com/m_13854/tm.htm LR replaced one for me as a warantee item. I believe it would have been over $300.00 (painfull).
I have another that is inoperable - no warantee. I havn't dived into that project yet but did a bit of research.

I would recomend NOT trying to rebuild your old actuators, the description is deceiving. To many things to go wrong, can send the pics of mine in many pieces. Mikes suggestion to purchase another one is your best bet.
If you order the actuator and feel unsure of how to do it, send me an email, I can send you my cell number and walk you through it (can do it with my eyes closed).
Good luck!

I had sticky lube issue on the rear door twice. A good penetrating spray lube under the Rover emblem fixed it.
