Engine Change

Hello all
 
I´m putting an all series 3 together! The engine its got is worn and in need of an overhall, a collegue of mine offered me an fully rebuilt 2.5 diesel from a land rover 90. IS it possible to fit the engine to the original gearbox?? or is to much of a fiddle???
