well that will clear the code, but it will come back cause something is wrong. On some cars if u clear it enough the computer will start to think that the problem condition is normal

It is not normal, and it would be worth while to check and see what code is being shown on your OBD1 box, I think it is under the passanger seat like on Disco's and I could be wrong. Get the number shown on the LED and get back to us.

Some of the older Rovers have a service light, usually a different color then the check engine light and usually set to trigger at a higher mileage, when so equipted there would usually be a relay, that is located in the pass. kick panel, that will need to be reset using a paper clip.

Before you take it to the shop, look for the code under the seat, what spend the money if you don't have to.

Mike I looked under the passenger front seat. I found the air susp box and the fuel ingition box. I unplugged the fuel iignition to pull it out. I plugged it back in and the engine light went out while the truck was running. I plan to pull the whole unit out from under seat to see if there is a code screen. rick

Mike i sent you a thanks and that I found the fuel ignition module and unplugged it to take it out. When I did this it reset the check engine light. I also came to a conclusion that I am using 87 octane which is not enough rick.

Do your truck a favor and give it a good decarbon sometime after you switch back to good GO JUICE.

Do you know what code is coming up? I have the Factory Shop Manuals for both a 94 Classic and a 95 4.0 SE. I could look it up if so.
