I've been looking to put the factory CD Changer into my Discovery for a while and I found oemautosound.com.  They have the changer and the cable new for $290 + ship.

Has anyone had any experience with them?  How about the unit in particular?

I just wanted to feel it out before I order.

Thanks.

PS: Is it common to have the brackets for the CD Changer already installed but not the data cable?  It's a 2003 DII S.

jmt,

Was your 2003 Disco II S pre-wired for the changer.  I have the same vehicle and mine appears not to be pre-wired.  I've acquired the Alpine CD Changer LRN50500, can I get this to work with my vehicle, and do you (or anyone else) know how to wire the changer?  I've searched far and wide for some sort of guidance and keep striking out.  Thanks!

Mine was not wired.  I actually went with an iPod interface, but I wrote up and install that should help you part of the way.

First, you need to buy the datalink cable.

Second, remove the radio from the dash and plug it in (see iPod install).

Third, route the cable down to the bottom of the passenger seat and plug it into your CD changer.  The bracketry for mounting the changer should already be there.
