 can anyone tell me where the fluid fill and the drain are located on a 2002 freelander? i would like to add a lucas trans treatment but not sure where to do so.

Do not add Lucas to your tranny. I think the world of Lucas but you have a weird trannyt that can only use fluif from Rover, regular Dextron will kill your tranny in days.

thanks for the heads up on the trans fluid, do you have to get the fluid from the dealer? and when i do where is the fill for it?

Dealer only and I don''t know where the fill pipe is.

i do not recommend doing anything to this trans unless you know exactly what youre getting yourself into, and also absolutly not to try and fix a slipping issue. if youre having problems, its too late. that said, the drain is a 14 mm bolt on the underside, lowest one you see, filling is tricky, and if you dont have the right equipment youll damage the trans, but with the fluid temp between 35-45 degrees C, 95-115 F, you need to remove the 5mm allen on the bottom of the trans, and add fluid to the nipple on top of the pan from the top, it has a black cap on it up towards the radiator, until a stream of fluid runs out of the hole you removed the bolt the bottem from... dont mess with it if youre not completly sure you know what youre doing, some of the bolts on the underside hold brake bands, so dont loosen the wrong ones.
