I bought it! Time for stuff.

I bought an '03 SE with 40,000 miles (warranty through September) tonight and now I need some stuff:
 
Tires (they're not dead yet...but it's time to figure out which are best).
Grille Guard:  I'm looking at Manik, any thoughts?
Side steps:  The significant other is 4'10" so we have to get them...again, looking at Manik.
 
Then a new computer chip and Valentine One.
 
Any thoughts/ideas are much appreciated.

What size wheels are on the truck, 16 or 18"?
Whay are you wanting a grille guard? Are you planning on doing alot of 4wheeling? Side steps really concern me especially if you are going of road.
What have you read about chips and who's are you thinking about using? What is about chips that is drawing you into spending $400 plus for a few more horse power and less mileage?
Valentine One, what is it?
There are a few things that you should be spending money on in the near future, rebuilding the front drive shaft and buying an extended warranty before the factory one expires.

I was thinking the same thing. Cover your butt before spending anywhere else. The Disco's character and high class looks, is only that. It should start falling apart on you any minute now. So keep your money and get set. Once you've replaced everything once or twice, then you can consider spending elsewhere.
 
Don't mean to pee in your conflakes, but bought mine absolutely mint and maintained myticulously per the dealer's maintenance program and after 1 1/2 month of ownership, I'm nearing $2000.00 and now the SLS is not working and GOD knows what eslse is waiting around the corner. It's like those british built that truck using the crapiest and cheapest of everything in an attractive package.

18" wheels.
 
Lots of deer around here and a grille guard is cheaper than headlights and body work.
 
My sweetie pie has to have steps, so I have to put something on there...running boards, steps...something.
 
The chip I read about here on the forum (can't remember the name) increased gas mileage and and power.
 
Valentine One is a radar detector.
 
Not planning on lots of wheeling, but yes I do plan on some.
 
 

Deer?  A good friend of mine hit a deer with his 4Runner and the not-to-cheap brush guard he had did a nice job of smacking the entire front in a very uniform, and costly, manner.

He must have been on the highway...the guard only helps on curvy roads.
 
 

I've had quite a few radar detectors and the Valentine one isn't as good as it use to be, and it's still just as expensive.  The new passport x50 and bell out performed the Valentine is basically every category this past year.

If you really worry about deer, get an ARB or similar bumper.  Most brush guards don't really protect much.  Just grab on and give it a nice wiggle.  Given a mild impact, most will easily contact the hood or lights.

I agree, a brush guard is strictly for looks, if you hit a deer at 30 MPH, the brush bar will just be one of those extra parts you will have to replace.
