My Oil warning light flickers occasionally at idle on my 4.2 95 RR LWB. I just bought it and it has 74,000 miles. I thought it was a near-stalling thing, but I'm not sure. Anyone ever experience this? It only happens when the engine is hot. I checked the oil level [of course] and it's fine.

P.S. ... don't tell the wife.

Welcome! No worries, oil logic control unit most likely at fault.

Nice ride! My favorite.

I agree with Bait and I would also suggest you consider flushing the engine crank case just in case the last owner was not real good about oil changes. Rovers are prone to fouling their oil easily and sludge and crap can build up to the point of plugging the oil pick up tube.
Consider buying a can of engine flush and using it before your next oil change, tomorrow would be good just incase the engine is plugged up.

Should this not be the problem; we can direct you to a thread that covers the de-sludging process.
What oil are you using?
May just be breakdown if you aren't using a HEAVY Oil (20W50) during the summer.
