Well I knew it snowed this weekend but I didn't know it snowed that much up there. Nice pics and thanks for sharing. Pikes Peak got a nice layer, but I'm not ready to fall off that mountain. I like that Defender. Land Rover needs to start selling those over here again....

I knew that you had a life away from here, there's got to be at least 2 or 3 other forums out there.
It looks like you're really enjoying your 'retirement'. I love playing in the snow. The simplest terrain becomes a real challenge. Plus you don't get dirty. That looks beautiful out there. I love Colorado, summer or winter. Mostly winter though. Looks like you've got some real snow there already, those pictures must be fairly high up. I hope to get out there this winter to do some skiing.

Thanks for sharing Mike! I love driving in the snow, and it is cooling off here. I am getting the bug again...

I do believe those pictures are the first that I've seen of Range Rovers offroad, kind of weird. Around here, the farthest they get is onto a nicely manicured lawn.

Mike, thanks for sharing the trip and pics.
I won't see any snow in NJ until January unless I want to drive about 4 hours in December.

I miss colorado due to the snow. We have had a few brief snow storms here but I still cant go up in the hills.
Nice pics and thanks for reminding me why I should not have left Colorado...

I noticed a lot of Land Rovers getting pulled out of trouble, but niether of the Jeeps, haha! I hope that was more a case of pilot error than the other
unspeakable conclusion

Last winter a friend of ours with a new Range Rover Sport asked us to take him off road. One look at his 20" chrome hoops and street tires told me it was a bad idea. He actually got stuck 40 feet past the forest service gate which was probably lucky. I watched as he twisted and poked at the little traction control dial with a look of complete confusion. "I can't believe this....I paid $50,000 for this......"
To add insult to injury, a teen in a 10 year old Subaru Outback drove around him while we struggled to get him unstuck.

This looks like a really good time, I can't wait for the snow to hit St. Louis. That guy in the Range Rover looks pretty happy to have his picture taken too,
did you have to do paper - rock - scissors with the Jeep driver for dibs on tow strapping him out of dangers way?
Please continue to post any pics you have for us and thanks for all your support and feedback.

If you notice in Mike's post, most of the Land rovers were out on their first adventure. 90% of offroad goof are due to the driver, not the vehicle. Besides, those Jeeps were modded. If I put all of that on my Disco, I'll have a beast too....

Yes, 12 of the dealers Rover ran street tires, and all thing considered did pretty dam well. The two jeeps couldn't get any further up the hill then we did for what it is worth.
