Okay I probably have the dumbest question, but here goes. When I purchased my new Land Rover 2 weeks ago, the dealer has the license plate attached to the spare tire, but I purchased a license plate holder, and I want to put it where it goes on the truck, but the holes don't line up below the door handle in the back ....huh? Can someone help me please

I'm not sure exactly you mean by license plate holder, if you purchased a license plate frame from an autoparts store then the holes are not going to line up. A special bracket is needed for US plates which you can get from the dealer. The bracket mounts to the holes in the rear door and then has the holes for the license plate. If you were talking about the part from the dealer I'd take it back and verify the part number and/or have them get you the correct one. I would imagine this is a part they will have to order.

No I didnt purchase it from the dealer, just from an auto parts store. The holes don't line up, so I need to purchase a Plate Holder from the dealer i guess. What if I want to just put my license plate w/out a holder? It still doesn't line up.. me confused

the one from the dealer is not a "frame" type it is an adaptor to make the holes in the door line up for US plates. Once you have the adaptor you can put whatever frame you want on.

Thanks so much. I ordered their catalog, and it came today. That bracket is expensive! I should bill the dealer I purchased it from. They put the license plate on my spare tire. I have to buy a tire cover too. Ebay has some good prices on some things, but I am leary with all the horror stories I have read. But I will give it a shot.
Thanks Land Rover friends
