Hello everyone,
Before I tear into my carpet installing the anchors for my new LR3 floor mats, is there anything in particular I should know about? I can't seem to find anything giving me installation instructions on the web.

I used an ice pick to poke holes in the carpet (as shown in the instructions). Still, four of the anchors sheared at the base of the screw while atempting to screw them into the carpet. Firm hand pressure was all that it took to twist them apart. I went to the dealer to get some more and they said they are not available seperately from the mats.

My suggestion, don't bother with the anchors. The fronts stay put just fine, the rears slide forward slightly (depending an how fidgity your rear passengers are) but never end up submerged under the front seats.

You could take it to the dealer and make the breakage problem their responsibility.

Thanks a bunch, sounds like a problem I would get myself into. I will just have the dealer do it next time I have it serviced.

I didn't use the anchors with mine. Didn't see any reason to put holes in the carpet. The mats stay put just fine without them.

I am using the LR mats and do not see the need for making holes in the flooring. I cut the plugs and glued the upper portion to each mat opening for a neater look. But then again nobody looks here. I have done this with the winter rubber mats and the carpeted rubber backed mats for the Spring - Fall.
Why place holes in the flooring of the car?
