Maintenance notice says -3

I have had my LR3 for 2 1/2 months and the maintenance notice on my LED display on the dash says -3 yesterday said -2 it has a little clock next to it. Does this mean I have to get the oil changed and I have passed it by 2 days? And if I don't get it done at the dealer, (It's a little inconvienient,) do I have to tell the mechanic to do something to reset the maintenance notice. Please let me know because I can't always go out to the dealer it's a little far.

what year. and yes, youre right on what it means, however its not based on oil change, its based on service, manufacturer spec. and unless its an 08, it has to go to the dealer to reset. now if youre still under factory warr. the service will be free.

Thanks it's a 2005 and I have one left in the warranty it ends in Oct. How do you reset it for future reff. What kind of service can I expect it has 40k miles on it. I do have an extended warranty does that give me anymore visits do you know?
