Hi guys,
A question for all you over there
I have just fitted a NAS spec tow hitch to my Disco 2 because it offers far more flexibilty as to what you can attatch in there. My qusetion / query is that :- either side of the tow hitch "square" hole are 2 round holes, Does anyone know what these are designed for ? they may just be part of the design, but I was wondering if anyone had used a high lift jack (with adapter) to lift the car there or anything else ?
Any ideas / info / suggestions is most welcome.
Cheers

Ah ha!!!, When you say safety chains I assume you mean if the tow hitch / ball breaks the chains are connected and will apply the brakes to a trailer..

Well its so if the trailer/what you are towing comes off or disconnected from truck/(ball or pinnel hitch) it dosent get away from you cross lanes,go off away and kill someone/damage something. That being said also to connect safety brakeaway cable, latch normally on trailer that will also engage brakes to lock on trailer.Hope that helps a little.

Yeah that helps, the reason I never thought of that was purely down to the fact the UK tow bars dont have anywhere to connect stuff like breakaway cables ( well not designed into the bar anyway) you just normally hook it round part of the truck.
So, what you've said makes sense, and as usual, everything US seems to be thought out a little better. I wonder what else they could be good for as well....mmmmmmm.
