New member and owner

I just purchased my first rover today. Its a 95 classic LWB with less than 60,000 miles on it. It has the air suspension but I cant decide if I want to keep it or convert it to coils. BVLR said they would convert it for free, I would have to let them know by the end of the week. I thought I got a pretty good deal on it. Here are some pics. Oh yah, Im a new member to the forum. I use to have a Jeep Cherokee that was lifted and what not. I thought I would move onto a classier SUV. Hope Im not dissapointed.

LWB's are my personal favorite.

The air suspension is up to you. It WILL cost a bundle to upkeep the ten year old system. The conversion won't cost a thing.

In response to your air suspension. I have a 2000 Range Rover and I am currently faced with the same decision. The original air bellows have 97,000 miles on them and they are beginning to leak. For now I have decided to keep the EAS running b/c I like the load leveling as I pull a utility trailer, the adjustable height levels and the features of the system. I have been researching how I can keep the EAS system and I have found online some ways to rebuild major components such as the valve block, and replace the air bellows for a lot less money compared to dealer prices. Through this forum I learned of some great sites that I will pass on to you. I am going to replace my air bags myself as they are not that difficult to do. Check out these sites about air suspension parts, do some reading and let me know what you think. the suspension choice is up to you and what you are going to use the vehicle for. the air system allows for automatic load leveling. good system, cost alot to maintain. the conversion is a good idea if you won't miss this option. the maintainance on the spring suspension in low, and is good to go. sounds like the spring system is something you are familiar. good looking ride. welcome to the forum. The biggest things to know about rovers are simple. parts are not cheap. dealers are expensive. Maintainence is the key to any vehicle, but more so with the rover. I have had mine for 10 years and it has never left me stranded and has cost about 5000.00 for maintainence that include tires and brakes. I has 130k on it. I don't know of many other vehicles that will preform that well. hope you have a good time with the rover. gotta love a rover. duboff
