New to the board as I just bought a 02 Discovery II, had the vehicle checked out all was good but for my piece of mind I want to perform typical maintenance items as my wife will use the vehicle daily. So with that being said I am asking the experts here for any suggested starting points.

Welcome to our humble forum.
Do a search for the 60k service.
Next you MUST have the double cardon joint on the front driveshaft replaced with a greasable one. Search for that as well.
And make sure that you use premium gas.
Also, try and put the mileage in your post as well. It saves time if you include your year and miles on the smile meter.

I will look and see how to add that info, but to save time 02' 82k miles, thanks for your input

Could you tell where the best place is to purchase the front drive shaft

Well, you are in luck, you dont need a whole new driveshaft. What you need to do is have the u-joints replaced on your's.
Any driveline shop can do it. The front driveshaft has 3 u-joints and a centering ball. It is about a $250 repair. You just have to make sure that they use u-joints with grease fittings.
I am going to list some sites that are a good source for Rover parts and tech tips.
www.AtlanticBritish.com, www.roverconnection.com, www.roverlandparts.com.
Bookmark those sites and save them for later use.
And as far as adding the info to your signature at the bottom of your posts, I have a hard time figuring it out too.

Thanks Spike, I will have a look at these sites tonight, I will take it to a shop for u-joints as I never had good luck with them I also have to have an extra one because i always screw up one of the caps with the bearings on the ground. I will attempt most anything else.
