I have heat however when I switch it to feet it does not switch it to my feet...What is the possible problem? I am a DIYer so I want to fix it myself but before I start removing under dash stuff...Anyone have this issue? What parts will be needed? How much is the part/parts? Thanks in advance!

It could be the heater control unit failing or a air gate not opening to the floor area, either way, I wouldn't suggest you tear into the dash, it is a bear.

Mike I have done heater cores on 5 series Bimmers (nightmare!) so I am not afraid to do a job like this. I was more looking for some insight on what is involved in the job & possible parts involved....I was thinking maybe this was a common thing & someone would know a fix. If I fix it I will post it.

It's probably the Control unit (part number AWR 7154) which is a one piece unit with the mechanical gears, cables, and servo's. They fail with some regularity. I have the part for $175.00. It beats the hell out of changinging out a heater core, which is a real Bear on both the Discovery and Range Rover.

Thanks for the input I was looking for...I actually got lucky...I started moving the switch back & forth several times & now have heat at the feet! I also found the wire for the aftermarket CD changer stuffed in the fee vent (someone has no brains) which I am sure was also restricting any air that was trying to come from down there...Anyways thanks for trying to help...If for some reason it stops working again & I will be in touch with you about purchasing that part.
