no power to starter on 89 RR

I have an 89 classic that isn't getting power to the starter. When you turn the key power leaves the ignition switch thru a white wire with red stripe but when it goes into the dash  with about a million other wires and I can't find where it goes. I know the power never makes it to the starter relay mounted of the fire wall. What is in line between the ignition and the relay? Any help would be great.
