what is the best type an weight oil to use in the eng of my 96 discovery? it has 145k
if it matters....also how much seafoam do i add to a fuel tank of fuel?

Where are you located? I am in OK and run 10W40 in the winter and 10W30 in the summer.
 
Throw the whole can of seafoam in the tank. With that mileage, you may consider and engine flush with ATF and doing an induation cleaning. Search the forums to see what other people have done for this. If you still ned help, just shout.

Use Highmileage Mobil One 10w30 or 10w40
The Seafoam will tell you on the can.

I am in New Jersey and I have been using synthetic Mobil 1 5W-30W since the truck broke 100k in miles.
 
We do not get a really cold winter until late January and February.  Most of the time we are above freezing, so changing to a 10W 30W during that time is not really worth it.
