I am slowly tracking down leaks on my rig.  I found another that appears to source out of the union between the starter and the case?  Actually the leaks looks like it is coming from the lower bolt (with an allen head) that holds the starter.  Is that possible?  The leak runs down around the rear part of the oil pan and then down the front of the transmission housing.  Any ideas?  Thanks   Phil

I don't know why that would be...hopefully someone else has some insight.  Could back the bolt out, clean up the area, slap some locktite on it and thread it back in.

Usually oil leaks at the starter come from the rear main seal, back of intake or valve cover. Leaks down and oil hangs on some area.

Take it to the DIY car wash with your ramps, run it up the ramps and degrease the engine and then look for leaks on a clean engine. With it up on ramps you can clean the underside of the engine well.
There is nothing that can leak oil at the starter, it has to be coming from somewhere else just like Mark G suggested.

check your valve covers, could just be running down the back of the engine, unless your rear main/crucifix seals are pouring oil, its not comming from that bolt, just going over it
