Does anyone have the procedure for progamming the keyless remote? The battery died some time ago and was taken out of the fob so I need the battery number also. The key does not manually lock the driver door so I think I'm going to have to take the door panel off and take a look at the assembly. I have to go through the passenger side to lock the driver door. It operates fine if I unlock the door. The key manually locks and unlocks the passenger door. Another "quirk" is when I manually lock the driver door from inside (passenger door is open) the actuator continues to unlock the driver door. If I lock it enough times (usually around 5-6) the lock stays down. Previous owner never locked the LRD1 and it's becoming inconvenient for me to get in and out so much.

some WD40 or some kind of silicon spray will probably solve your driver's side key hole.

I use graphite in the key holes. reprograming the remote is in the owners manual for your vehicle. hope it heleps. gotta love a rover. duboff

I just received the owners manual (ordered from Ebay) and it has all the necessary data. Still puzzling is the rear door lock does not operate with the ignition key. Is there a separate key for the rear door? WD40 worked on the driver door and I'm going to get some graphite and lubricate the rear door this weekend.

I was looking for replacement keyless entry remotes not too long ago and I found a site that had them really cheap for my 94 and 97 Discovery.

I had them delivered in less than a week and the programming instructions only took maybe 10 seconds?

Anyways, here's a link to the site:
