Hello, I am new to the forum. I have recently bought a 1989 110 Land Rover for use as a work vehicle. I am a joiner with a workshop based at the bottom of a steep drive. The incline and the desire to own a LR prompted the purchase. The 110 I now own appears in pretty good condition and has only done 68 thousand. It does not have power steering fitted, I can manage but none the less I would like to know if it possible to 'retro fit' PAS? I understand kits are available for Series LR and a dealership I spoke to said it would be possible but prohibitively expensive. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks.

Yes, you can add power steering, I wouldn't have a dealer do it the cost would kill you.
With a little research you should be able to round up all the parts you need from a Rover dismantler.
Let me know if you decide to do this, I'll try and help you find the parts.

Thanks Mike. I'm going to do some research and clarify what specific parts I need. I'm based in London but any help would be greatly appreciated in tracking the items down. Steve.

Please keep us posted on your progress for fitting your 110 with power steering. I have a 1986 110 that I would also like to retrofit. Finding parts here in Albania may be a bit more dificult, but I am anxious to see what you come up with.

Thanks to all for advice & support offered. I am going to go ahead with sourcing the parts and 'retro' fitting the PAS so will keep interested parties posted of progress. Thanks. Steve.
