Quick question guys. I just ran the seafoam thru for the first time per Mike's great instructions. Now I have the CEL. I'm pretty sure Mike said it would reset itself after a few starts but need to be reassured. Thank you in advance for your input.

If it doesn't, just run down to any auto parts store and have them clear it, find out what the code was and let me know.

I did seafoam last weekend and my SES light is still on, truck seems to run/idle a lot better. My question; is there a certain type of code reader to ask for or are they universal????

Just go have your local auto parts store read and clear the code, they don't charge for it.

What is actually the seafoam and how needs to be done. My SES light and Check engine are on and I would like to clear them out.
thank you.

Hey Disco Mike!!!! Just another quick question! If I seafoam my oil, should I flush as well to get all the seafoam out??? Or can I just go with Mobil One Syn???????

Don't waist your time with the Seafoam in the engine, do the ATF flush for better results. Just put one can in the gas tank and the other can of Seafoam thru the induction system.

Before you do anything, go get your codes read at your local auto parts store and get back to us with the 4 digit code numbers, then we can talk about cleaning the engine.

Hi Mike, I took the Disco 96 to the Auto part because of the Check engine and SES lights on and they gave me a large report that includes:
P0130 (02 sensor) Circuit Malfunction ( bank 1 sensor 1)
P0133 02 sensor. CKT slow response (bank 1 sensor 1)
P0300 Random/ Multiple Cylinder Misfire detected.
P0307 Cylinder 7 Misfire detected.
P0305 Cylinder 5 Misfire detected.
P1316 Manufacturer contrl. Ignition System or Misfire.
P0560 System Voltage Mafunction.

You need O2 sensors and a tune up (plugs and wires).
Do the tune up first. Clear the codes and then wait and see if they come back on for the O2's.

First things first, how many miles on your truck?
Take it back to the auto parts store and have them do a load test on your battery and alternator so you can see where your low voltage is coming from, then look at the 02 sensors and then the tune up.
Get back yo us when you find out about your voltage.

I want to give you guys a little more inf on my car so the feedback can be better. I placed a new used engine on the car with 86000 milles. I replaced the engine when cylinder 4 and 6 came out weak after few weeks of buying the car (with 103000 mileage). After replacing engine I started having problems with the "battery" and replaced it few times. I also replaced the Alternator and this issue was fixed when I found your Forum and I fixed out the voltage issue after routing correctly the serpentine belt. The voltage on the alternator with the engine on is 14.2 volts. I am recognized it is a little low but the car is been working OK. The Spark plugs and wires should be ok because I paid to get new plugs and wires when placing the "new" engine. Except that the mechanic did not do good work on tune up job.
Let me know guys what do you think about the readings.
The car presents Check eng light on and SRS light on all the time.
Chicago is having a beatiful day today.
Do you know what the voltage is at the battery both with the car running and not running? The battery may have been drained before you got the alternator fixed and the alternator is not doing a good job charging it.

I checked the volts and this is what I found: engine on 14.08 volts by the alternator
and 13.98 across the battery postes.
with engine off the battery reads 12.98 volts.
Thank you.
