I have a slightly related question: if you do a battery replacement, is there any reprogramming or is it a simple "plug-n-play"?

Default Amazon buy

I recently bought two replacement keys with fobs from amazon. I pulled the electronics out of the old fobs and they slipped right into the new ones looked like the factory setup but the keys are too thick and won't fit into the lock.

Is the link going to come back up at some point? Or is everything being transferred over to a different site. Frustrating as I had bookmarked that website and now that I actually have an LR it is not up anymore. lol

I don't know what the link went to, but I bought a new button on ebay, soldered on the board in the FOB and it works perfect. I also bought a new shell/key to swap the electronics into....had cut and works fine. If anyone needs those links, let me know and I'll look up my ebay history and post the links.

I bought these... I also soldered the button back on the board and swapped it all over to the new case, works great. Wish I had tried that before spending $250 on a new key at the stealer.

What happened to your original? I was surprised at how resilient they are - left my keys in the rear hatch bumper area and slammed the rear door hard. Heard a crunch, pulled it out and it was all disassembled. I got lucky - snapped it back together and everything worked fine.
