so, i'm looking at a 2006 RR Sport. i've read about numerous electrical issues with this new model. was wondering if those issues have been resolved on new vehicles coming off the line?

Really, please expand. I work for a Land Rover dealership and we have had VERY little problems with the 06 RR. A few reprograming issues, but nothing major.

no offense to you as a LR employee, but there are countless reports of issues with the 2006 RR Sport, from CD getting stuck to active suspension doing its own thing, to numerous electrical system problems. you can find such reports from various sources such as Consumer Reports, edmunds.com, IH8Mud.com, etc, etc.

there is even a auto trans recall on the 2006 RR Sport already (NHTSA Campaign #: 05V502000).

so i'm not sure if you just dont know this vehicle or dont wish to say you do.

i'm neutral at this time..... still deciding.

I had a Range Rover Sport Supercharged for close to a year now and have not had any that needed to be fixed! I wouldn't drive any other vehicle at this point.

Mr. Kid,

I've had my Sport for a few months with no electrical problems. I also hang out at Rangerovers.net, and see almost no such problems.

thanks for the feedback. kinda odd to see all the negative out there and the postive here.

i guess one bad experience makes those people cry wolf.

i'm going to look at it today.... i still have Lexus GX and Acura MDX on my list.

Comparing a Lexus GX and Acura MDX to a RR Sport is apples to oranges.

it is, but those are the only other SUVs to really look at.

test drove a rr sport hse today. it's kinda sluggish. i'm guessing 390hp should be a std. motor and perhaps the s/c version should be around 450. we went over the rock course out back (nothing my tacoma could not do), but it was neat. very comfy inside. i did not like some of the controls and layout though.

i would probably go after a s/c version. what is everyone paying for a s/c??

Just like any car, you can find something that goes wrong with it. The recall is actually parking break fault. They just simply reprogram it and there is no more problems. Of course the work is coverd under warrenty. I know in the LR3's that the parking brake light will acutally come on(even though the parking break is off), if you simply turn the car off and then on again the light will be fine.
