I would like to buy a set of REAL off-road tires for my '03 Disco HSE. It's my daily driver so I keep a set of Toyo Proxie's on there. Helps with the milage, noise etc... However, they suck off-road. So I'd like to get a full set of wheels and tires that I can swap out when I go off-road. How big can I go without rubbing the fenders? Any brands, I found some General Tire Grabber AT2's that looked pretty good, but I'm just not sure about the size. Thanks, Brian

Thanks, Brian Brian, You might consider buying a used set of factory 16" alloys off of one of the Rover forum classified sections, there are a lot of them for sale. As for size, go to a 245/75/16 tires and I would suggest a BFG MT with teir 3 ply side walls, very strong and tons of traction. Where do you live and what sort of wheeling do you plan on doing, what kind of ground or soil, maybe lots of mud???? Mike

ORIGINAL: TexasBadlands I have a 2002 Disco II and have been searching for OFF ROAD tires for two weeks so far and can't find crap. Ticks me off that you can't find any off road tires for a supposedly OFF ROAD vehicle! Even Land Rover North America had a stupid reply to an email I sent about it. They sent out my Disco II with 18" wheels, and nobody makes OR tires for em! How much wheeling are you planning? If you plan on much, you had better plan on selling those 18" wheels and buy some 16"ers. 16" tires are much stronger then 18's, offer a greater selection and won't get torn up like the 18's off the road. Are you planning on a lift some day, if so you should take that into consideration when buying tires. Mike
