Hello!!

I am looking to purchase a 2003 Range Rover and wanted feedback/epinions on the reliability of this year Rover. I come from the world of BMW's and it is known some years are more desired/reliable than others. Are the 2003 Rovers good for 15+ years of ownership and beyond. Have all the "kinks" been worked out from prior years?

Thanks

What do you plan to do with this truck, are you going to modify it for some good wheeling?

No sir... I don't plan on four-wheeling this vehicle other than hopping a curb when necessary, cutting through a ditch now and again, etc. (Unless of course I catch the "Rover four-wheeling fever") I am drawn to the Rover's vehicular "feel", craftsmanship, and overall utilitarian purpose.
But to clarify, I do alot of my own wrenching and was wondering as to "ease" of general maintenance items:
Are spark plugs easily accessible, timing belt/chain changes difficult, brake jobs, alternator easy to get to, etc. Which year generally requires the least degree of difficulty for items that inevitably come due in the ownership of these vehicles when you keep it 15+ years?

Thanks,

I own a '04 Range Rover HSE and it is awsome. I never had a problem with it

The '03's are great also I haven't heard any problems with them

I haven't heard of anything major on either year.
Consider changing out all fluids when you buy one.
As for maintance and repairs, if you have any questions, ask us.

Thanks for the suggestions! I purchased a 2002 RR 44K miles, black with dark tan/piping. I really am enjoying this truck. Mine did not come with a roof rack or running boards and the passenger side floor mat was missing for some strange reason. I couldn't find a good aftermarket website (atlanticbritish) or otherwise where I could purchase floor mats. The LandRover dealer here in Dallas, Texas says floor mats for the 2002 are hard to source.

Any suggestions? I will try to post my cell phone picks of this super clean 2002.

Disco Mike - What would be the best recomendation for oil change with my mileage at 46,000. I'm partial to Castrol 20w/50 high mileage in my BMW which has 260K on the clock so my intent to keep this '02 Rover past the 200k mark I want to start using something that will provide this longevity. Also, what brand name filter? It probably has a synthetic now..I don't know.

Also, I have pictures on my RAZR phone i'd like to host and load. What's the easiest way for this?

Thanks all,
