Hi, I stumbled on this site via google. I have the rover bug i guess...spent some time in the UK and live in NY. I wish I could afford a defender but the disco is as fun. Shes a 96 with 174000 miles. Running strong. I have taken her off road a couple of times and shes hit some curbs in her day. I worry that I might have injured the front end on the last hit as my foot was fully depressed on the brake when I slid into the curb (snowstorm). Im not really sure of her history before 145000 miles. The first service was done at the dealer and after that she was sold to a mechanic, i dont think he knew very much about rovers though. I wonder what has actually been done to her. I had to replace the u joints, 1 rear wheel bearing, 1 axle and rotor recently....$1500.00 ouch!. I hope i dont have to do a transmition repair any time soon. Well thats me... glad you guys are here! Im a lifer so to say!
