I am a new purchaser of the LR3! Love the vehicle!!! My only question is this; The sticker says 17mpg/hwy and 14mpg/City. Now I read alot on this before I bought and I was anticipating only getting maybe 13/14 mpg. 1st tank, 10mpg!!! 2nd tank, 11.2 mpg!!! driving about the same(mostly city) Seems like as the motor is breaking in, we are seeing better milage. Anyone have any feedback or is the LR3 a bigger guzzler than a Hummer?

I got my HSE on Dec 23rd and I am averaging 12 mpg on my commute. I drive 7 miles each way to work, in stop n go traffic all the way. I just hit 2000 miles, and the mileage is getting a bit better as it breaks in. I havent taken it on a road trip yet, but on 1 stretch of open highway, the computer was indicating 19 mpg for about a 30 minute stretch. I hope to do a bit of a road trip this weekend, I will post the mileage if I do. Enjoy the LR3, it is AMAZING

I drive from NY to my house out in Long Island, about an 85 mile drive each way each weekend. The LR3 averaged over 17 mpg including 15 minutes of city driving out of a total drive of about an hour and 40 minutes each way. My 97 Discovery averaged just under 14 mpg on the same drive so with highway driving, the LR3 is more efficient than the Discovery even though it has 100 more horsepower and it weighs about 50 percent more.

With my first tank of gas, I averaged an awful 10mpg. I'm hoping that will improve dramatically.

I average 9.6 MPG after 2,500 km. I have driven mostly city miles so far (maybe 20% highway @ 100 km/hr +). I have not really seen any increase in MPG. I am planning an 8,000 km trip later this spring and will take it into the dealer beforehand to have everything checked out (including the "less than advertised" gas milage). Will report back when I have more info.

I drove about 120 miles from San Francisco to just north of Sacramento and was averaging about 15 mph. Did I fail to mention I pegged it acouple of times and it goes from 55 to 100 really fast! Proud new owner of LR3 HSE all options included, as of 5/15/05. Just give me a couple days of pure city driving to see how low I can get the mileage...

I've got 1300 miles on my HSE, and I'm averaging about 10 MPG in the city, just as Fbaer, I have a 7 mile commute each way in stop and go traffic. On the highway I get about 14. I've found it makes no difference whatsoever whether I use the air conditioning or not, I get exactly 10 MPG in the city. Hope it improves. I just ordered a chip that's supposed to enhance MPG (got it on eBay). will report any noticeable difference if I find it.
