This thread has gotten Disco I & II mixed up. They have two different ABS systems.

dma3's original post was about A Disco II ABS/traction control light. Both vehicles use A WABCO system. However, unlike the USA Federally mandated "Check engine light". Which will clear itself of faults eventually, once the ABS light comes on it stores A code in it's memory until cleared by A Dealer. It will not illuminate the ABS light every key cycle if the fault is not currently present.
