hi all. I am looking for some advice. I haved a Freelander DI, 1994cc, purchased 2nd hand 3 years ago. I am not sure how old the car is, must be around 8 years (reg. TIL9576). The car has over 100,000 miles on the clock and has an Irish plate. I recently took this car in to my local Landrover dealership because the car had been making some loud 'clunking' noises underneath when the car was turning. It turns out that the chassis has a large crack in it! Unbelievably, the guy in the dealership told me that if I came onto these forums I may find other people that are familiar with this issue, he mentioned that the chassis is not designed to crack and that if I could gather enough evidence to substantiate this I may have a case to take to customer services. This guy reckons he knows of other people that have done the same thing successfully. The car has not been involved in a collision, this is simply wear and tear, the Landrover mechanic reckons that the chassis was poorly welded to start with. What do you guys think? Many thanks, Mark.
