ok,

Im working on a design proposal for a Land Rover utility vehicle for the year 2010, (not so far away now)

and I could do with some feedback.
Im sorry if any questions seem 'basic' or 'obvious', but my research does need to be thorough

What do you use your land rover for?

where do you go in it?

what is your occupation?

is the Landrover used for business?

what is your opinion of the defender (90,110&special vehicles)?

if you dont own a defender, why did you choose a freelander/disco/rangerover instead?

how could Land Rover adapt a vehicle for your specific needs?
(please do be as wacky or ridiculous as you want)

thanks

Hi Andy !

What do you use your land rover for?
Everyday use, + fun

where do you go in it?
Everywhere, all over Europe

what is your occupation?
Land-Rover parts sales (small independent business in the southwest of France: Landypoint s.a.r.l.

is the Landrover used for business?
Yes, by all means ! 2 of them: 2 x Series III 109 V8, one of which (Sally is Stage One factory prototype # 4. Engine serial #: L-R 4).

what is your opinion of the defender (90,110&special vehicles)?
Coil sprung is for poofs, wimps and wimmens with long fingernails and high heels (joking?). 90" etc was not an improvement except for better axle travel but that is where it stops, electronics are sheer crap (I really mean that) and so has been "British Workmanship" up to now. Special Vehicles: yes they did some "specials" and that is also where it stopped.

if you dont own a defender, why did you choose a freelander/disco/rangerover instead?
There are more "Series" Land-Rovers still in service all over the world than whatever "defenders" they ever built.

how could Land Rover adapt a vehicle for your specific needs? (please do be as wacky or ridiculous as you want)
Make it RELIABLE, for the devil's sake and make it WELL.
Use BRAINS in design instead of alcohol/dope/bloody-mindedness/T.Blair-style idiocy/etc.
Example: galvanize ALL possible steel chassis/body parts for a start, then start THINKING.
Get a decent non-electronic engine like the Iveco in the Santana Anibal-PS10.
Ban shoddy workmanship.
Ban Lucas electrics. (Sod the Prince of Darkness).

thanks

Sorry, Andy, you asked for an opinion, well you got mine. No hard feelings, huh.

Takeo.
