Its time to do a full change of the disco's (2003 disco II) fluids and I'm looking for some specific guidance...

How much and of what weight/brand should I put in the diffs/tranny?
I'm going to replace the filter in the transmission. Are there any "how-to's" out there to ease my mind before dropping the pan?
Any hints/tips/tricks for flushing the brake system and replacing the fluid there?
Anybody have any other recommended maintenance I should take care of while I'm at it?

This is all still in the to-do stage as I am currently in Iraq and am just planning for the future; so the necessity of the fluid change is not in question, just the logistics of it. I really appreciate all your help so far.

How many miles on your truck? Then I can tell you what else you may need to do, also when was the last service done on it?

Approx 50k and unfortunately I don't know when the last service was done on it (other than its last engine oil change 3k ago).

So do you plan on doing the 60K just to make sure everything is current?
If so what would you like now, shopping list, items to service or what?

Precisely!

A list would be very helpful as would any how-to's (any helpful websites out there that cover this? I don't feel like dropping $150 for the damn tech manual). Thanks a lot!

Being in Fallujah, phone calls are few and far between (not to mention expensive!). If my girlfriend found out I called you to talk about the disco rather than call her when I had the chance I think she'd be a little peeved. I'm sure you understand. Plus, if all the good info is passed over the phone its not available for everyone else to see. I can't keep this kind of good gouge from the rest of the LRF family!
