I was told I have a cylinder that went bad on my 2000 4.6 Any info and about how much to replace? I have 94,000 miles on the truck. Thanks

Bad cylinder is pretty vague ... bad compression??? loss of power??? erratic ??? vibrations ???what were the symptoms ???

First, unless you switched out your engine, you have a 4.0.
How mentioned to you that you have a bad cylinder, is your truck running bad, have you let it over heat, are you loosing coolant or is your check engine light on?

It's definetly a 4.6 maybe I wrote 4.0 in an earlier posting,sorry. I'm not sure what he meant by bad cylinder but I trust him since I'm friends with his daughter so I guess I'll find out more tommarrow . THANKS! Bobby

Bobby,
I am confused, did you change out your engine, if not, it really is a 4.0.
What is it doing to lead you to think it has a bad cylinder?

The badge on the back tailgate says 4.6 HSE. It's a 2000 Range Rover.

I misunderstood, I thought it was a Disco.
Has anyone done a compression or chemical test on the coolant system?
It is most likely a leaking head gasket which is very common in Rovers so make sure they check before they start tearing into the engine.

I don't think they have but now I'll tell them to do that first, thanks!! I'm glad you thought I had a Disco, had me thinking I lost my mind, again!! LOL
