I have a 1986 110 with a 3.9 v8 range rover engine, bought recently as a project however i have a wiring fault i can't solve, the cable from the battery into the starter relay constantly overheats around the fuse, to a point where the plastic starts to melt, i have changed the fuse, tightened the conections and upgraded the cable to the fuse, but still the problem persists there are no obvious earthing problems that i can find can anyone help or sugest where to start looking?

Hi just a few questions? You said this has a Range Rover motor that has been installed in your 110. Seeing that this may be a retrofit, have you considered that the wiring may not be of the correct gauge? If you constantly have this defect you may have problem with the wiring being to small. Another possiblity is that you may have a problem with your starter. A starter problem may not be that noticeable. Hope this may give you a few place to start. David
