99 DiscoII, alpine deck, harman-kardon.

I was installing my kenwood deck,
and I noticed 2 antenna connector...?

I hooked the bigger one to my deck, but what's the small one for?

lol you have a weather band with land rover witch does not come with other cars that is what it is mainly for the weather band. and to tell you the truth put the stock back in it's like take the bose souround sound out of the home and hooking up a pyle lol

According to the Rave CD? I think is where I read it, the left antenna is your main antenna and your right antenna had something to do with picking up the signal in urban areas, but both were for FM. I plugged into the left one, no problems.

It’s called a diversity reception antenna. They are both the same. I am not a radio engineer by any stretch. They are amplified antennas used conjunctively with some form of gain matching in the receiver section. There are three different ways to do this so I have been led to believe.
I am facing the same situation with my 99 RR 4.0S. Right now I have only one hooked up. Works great. Use either one doesn’t matter however I think you may get a small amount of range loss. It won't harm anything to use a Y adaptor to connect them both but I've read that they may somehow cancel themselves out, don't really know but I will soon.

I have ordered two DIN to ISO antenna lead adaptors and a diversity antenna adaptor for some late 90's model Nissan. After I get this all waded up and plugged in behind the radio I'll let you know if any smoke came out from anything
