I went on a long 3 hr. trip, almost all highway, going right at 72 mph and got about 15 or 16 mpg. On the trip home, I kept it closer to 80mph and got a solid 17 mpg. I'll have to retest this. I think keeping the engine in the right power band may be the way to go. Anybody know when the peak torque occurs on these engines? Oh yeah, a solid 13 mpg around town.

ORIGINAL: N.Franklin I hit 238 miles on the trip before the gas light came on today, from a topped off tank. 25 gallon tank if I remember correctly, not too good when gas is over $3.50 a gallon. did you put 25 gallons in it? have you changed your O2 sensors? If I remember correctly it was around 21 gallons, no I havent changed the O2 sensors yet, setting up a time for the LR dealer to run the codes for the CEL and the ABS lights.

you can run by Autozone and they will read your CEL for free.... Don't pay the dealer...

Checker auto parts couldnt find the plug the first time I was there, now that I know where it is I will take it back to them. AFAIK, they cannot check the ABS light, so that would be a dealer issue. If the dealer charges the same for both as they do for just the ABS check, then Ill go there instead.
