Hi !

Of course, it might be your immobilizer at fault, if installed. Look in owner's manual.

OR it might be anything plain electric between your contact lock and starter motor, or your computer playing up.

Not easy to diagnose at a distance...

Best regards,

Takeo.

Did this fault appear all of a sudden or have you had problems in the past? I found that the starter motor on my Discovery would sometimes go faulty after a long journey (after it's really warmed up) and if I stopped for Diesel or to pop in a shop or whatever it wouldn't turn over. At first I thought I had an immobiliser fault but it turned out to be the starter motor. If I left the vehicle to cool down it would normally start fine, or giving the starter motor a swift tap with a hammer could normally convince it to start. After that it would be fine for a couple of weeks, maybe over a month before it'd do it again.

Eventually the problem decided to get worse and one day it refused to start no matter whether it was hot, cold or whether I beat **** out of the starter motor. A replacement starter cured the problem.

Hope this helps

Brian
