I just made a down payment on a dark blue 2008 LR2 and will be picking it up sometime this next week. I'm trading in my 2000 Discovery Series II that I have owned since 2002. I'm looking forward to a much quieter and more car like ride. I am interested in knowing if anyone has experienced any issues with their new LR2s? Any quirks or oddities that new owners should be aware of? Anything of interest that new buyers should know? Thanks!

I know of a few people that have them and they have not had any issues thus far. They are great vehicles! Come on now....Land Rover! 4x4 Authority since 1948!

I have one complaint so far! The right dial on the radio does not tune stations while you are listening to FM/AM radio. It switches through the presets, which seems pretty pointless to me, since you have a button for each one anyway. The buttons above the display (tune/seek) work well enough, but using the dial would be much easier and more intuitive. edit: If there is a way to change this, someone please let me know!

Hi! Have owned mine for about 2 months now and have only noticed a couple of little "LR" quirks. Since I traded in a Freelander, and our other car is a RR Supercharged, we're getting used to them! The radio dial not tuning stations, instead running through the presets is a pain. I've experimented and can't find a way to change this setting. I did finally get the rear view mirrors to adjust to exactly the correct placement in reverse! Sun glare on the center console/gear shift area can be sudden and blinding, if the sun is coming through the sun roof just right. Nearly blinded us on a trip back from NY, and I ended up throwing a small towel over it. Then I purchased the wood kit for the interior. And even tho the kit's wood is French polished, it seems to do the trick. Also, if you let the car sit in the sun, with the sun hitting the dashboard, your "pod" (key, or whatever you want to call this) MAY not seat correctly the first time you insert it. I've had problems twice and both times I think it was related to how hot the dashboard around the insertion spot got, but we're not sure. Dealer isn't sure either. I just tried it again, and the second time I tried, it was fine. With Bluetooth, you have to let the car tell you what the code is, which is the exact opposite of every other Bluetooth system out there. I'm trying out phones for the car, and am making the people at the phone stores bring the phones to the car to verify that they'll link correctly. Blackberrys aren't consistent, which means I'm switching to something else, just don't know what yet. Any suggestions? I loaded mine up with driving lights, rear light guards, mud flaps (on their way), luggage rack (on its way), and the wood kit. I'm extremely pleased with this car. Highway, she's averaging 24 to a gallon. In city driving, she hasn't gone down below 18 yet, so I'm thinking we made the right choice.

Have had my LR2 since April 3rd (got the first one in NYC) and have had little/no trouble. One thing that I had to go back to the dealer for was to tighten the cover/cowel on the back hatch which houses the release latch (grey bar says Land Rover on it). I went around the showroom and found that about half the LR2's had loose latch covers. Must be a factory thing. Got it tightened and no worries. Also, be careful NOT to have your wipers set to automatic when you go to the car wash. Lost a blade and it cost me $24 to replace. To be sure you're not in auto, push the wiper lever on the right side of steering wheel all the way down. Have fun! Paul
